Following Jesus

"If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." John 12:26

Just where is Jesus right now?

It is a cultural misnomer we often become trapped in, this asking Jesus to join us in the work.  Yet, Jesus tells us that we are to follow Him, not the other way around.  We must be so close to Him.  It is like the tiny child who wants always to be next to us, touching us, holding and being held, playing with our hair, nuzzling our cheek, touching our eyes, ears, nose, and becoming so intimately acquainted with us, why?

Because we are their EVERYTHING.

Are you, am I depending on Jesus like this?

Are we climbing in His lap to be held, and on His shoulders to see?  Are we feeling His beard and looking deeply into His eyes, noticing every fleck of color?  Do we long to know Him in this way?

This is only the beginning, friend.

Once we know Him in this way, then we can begin to know where He is and what He is up to.

And we will be there with Him.

"You know these things—now do them! That is the path of blessing" (John 13:17, TLB).

Goodnight, Runners.
