God’s Pretty People
The ones God sees as pretty
Might not have perfect hair
Their nails may not be polished
And closets might be bare
Their smiles may not look perfect
Not straight or bleached are they
But from these humble heart strings
The lost souls find their way
With eyes that see each poor one
And knees that bow in prayer
They give—not of their surplus
Replete—with courage, care
Dear Lord, help me not to judge
As other people do
Help me see that true beauty
Is only found in You.
