Barricaded by Prayer
"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." James 5:16
"And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him" (1 Chronicles 5:20).
"You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas" (Psalm 65:5).
As our world is filled with more and more evil, we must never forget the strength of the humble believer's prayer. Prayer is more powerful than any barricade or other security device.
Scripture tells us that we are to, "Never stop praying" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
The Holy Bible goes on to remind us of the peace and power that are the rich inheritance of the believer. Here are just a few of God's many wonderful promises, ALL of which are true and never rendered weak or powerless.
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20).
"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses" (Mark 11:25).
"Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God" (Luke 6:12).
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father" (John 14:12).
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
"Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2).
"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:12).
"But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers" (1 Peter 4:7).
"Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Revelation 5:8).
Let's get to praying, friends, and may we join with Paul as he prayed the following, recorded in Ephesians 1:18-20, "I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms."
Goodnight, Runners.
