An Ode to the Glutton
Gluttony, gluttony, oh how we eat
Gorging so much that we can’t see our feet
Drinks, candy, coffees and cakes—we want more
Then to the doctor we, desp’rate, implore
Why do we do this vile thing we should not
Claim we the title to what others bought
Are we so greedy we can’t skip one meal
Lured by our want to the devil’s dark deal
Wanting no waste so we swallow once more
Then when we wake we don’t fit through the door
Can we not share all the food we’ve been giv’n
So that our brothers and sisters are liv’n
May we have faith in the promise of God
He meets each need on this path that we trod.
