Only One Savior

“For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬

Do you try to be the Savior for others, even trying to repent for them?

Sometimes we want to see change so desperately in another person because we love them so much, we try to be their Savior, even repenting for them, as if we ever could.  We see their path of destruction and beg them to turn around.  Then, when they don’t turn, we take matters into our own hands.  We try to sacrifice our own lives for them.

But we fail to recognize how sinful that really is.

There is but one Savior, Jesus, and there is but one sacrifice, Jesus.

And oh, how much more desperate is His love for the erring ones—you and me.  How much greater His burden for the lost ones!

Zephaniah 3:17 says, “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

And Acts 4:12 tells us, “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

May we stop trying to be the Savior and rest in His great love for each and every one.

Goodnight, Runners.
