His Return
“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them." Luke 12:35-37
Awaken from slumber, awaken from sleep
The crier is gone now, and evil did creep
It came in the night through the old Trojan horse
You gave up the fight without one show of force
Time after time His great love for us called out
It started so softly, then gave a loud shout
Many have heard but they never have chosen
Lamps in their hearts have grown so cold their frozen
If you've awakened, please gather your lamp quick
Dress for the wedding with oil and trimmed wick
Await His approaching, yes, stand at the door
The Master will come, He won't wait anymore
Awaken from slumber, please, wake now from sleep
Be ready! He's coming, His promise to keep.
