A Time for Joy
"The Lord is fully aware of how limited and futile the thoughts of mankind are, so he helps us by punishing us. This makes us follow his paths and gives us respite from our enemies while God traps them and destroys them. The Lord will not forsake his people, for they are his prize. Judgment will again be just, and all the upright will rejoice." Psalm 94:11-15
"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places." Habakkuk 3:17-19
We may not always see times of war and unrest as times for rejoicing, but they are. Philippians 4:4 reminds of this when it says, "Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice!"
If we believe God's Word and know how dearly we are loved, that we will never be forsaken, that we are the Lord's prize possession—the very apple of His eye—can anything keep us from having joy?
Knowing Jesus makes every moment a time for the fullness of joy.
Goodnight, Runners.
