Full of Flavor
“You are the world’s seasoning, to make it tolerable. If you lose your flavor, what will happen to the world? And you yourselves will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless." Matthew 5:13
Is your life full of the flavor of God?
Mark 9:50 tells us, “Good salt is worthless if it loses its saltiness; it can’t season anything. So don’t lose your flavor! Live in peace with each other.”
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" Psalm 34:8
Is your life full of the flavor of God?
God has lovingly sprinkled us—those He calls His own—throughout creation to be His delectable flavor to the world! But do they notice the difference? And what are the ways we flavor the world?
They notice the difference when they taste the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in our lives. Our obedience to Him demonstrates these wonderful flavors.
Obedience to Him is good. It tastes good and it is good for the body—the physical body as well as the body of Christ.
Jesus admonished those who would believe in Luke 14:35 when He said, "Flavorless salt is fit for nothing—not even for fertilizer. It is worthless and must be thrown out. Listen well if you would understand my meaning.”
Our Jesus, our Lord is full of flavor and we are called to be like Him in a bland and flavorless culture.
Goodnight, Runners.
