A Vessel of His Light

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.” Luke 8:16

As a visual person, I often picture my life as a follower of Jesus in a childish way.  I imagine to have swallowed a flame or a lightbulb when I received Jesus as my Savior.  I carry this light within me all the time.  It warms and guides me.  The muddier my life, the harder it is for me and others to see and recognize His light.  The purer my life, the more transparent I am as a vessel and the more His light shines through, drawing all people to Himself.

So I have a question for you:

How much of God’s light shines through you?

Can others see Him in your life?

Or, are there pet sins that muddy the jar, concealing His light in your life?

2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But this precious treasure—this light and power that now shine within us—is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within must be from God and is not our own.”

I pray that you and I will submit our lives wholly to Him each day that others may see Jesus‘ light shining through us.

Goodnight, Runners.
