Believe

"For this wonderful news—the message that God wants to save us—has been given to us just as it was to those who lived in the time of Moses. But it didn’t do them any good because they didn’t believe it. They didn’t mix it with faith. For only we who believe God can enter into his place of rest. He has said, 'I have sworn in my anger that those who don’t believe me will never get in,' even though he has been ready and waiting for them since the world began."  Hebrews 4:2-3

Do you believe?

One of my favorite stories about believing in the Holy Bible is the story of Abram who became Abraham.  God called him to leave his family behind and go . . . somewhere.  But, where was the somewhere?  Abram didn't know where the somewhere was, but he had the promise that God would guide him.  Not only that, but God promised that if Abram followed, God would make him a great nation, make him famous, and he would be a blessing to many others (Genesis 12:2).  The blessing continued as God told Abram in Genesis 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and the entire world will be blessed because of you."  That's a lot of blessing!

And Abram believed.

Not only did Abraham believe, but God delivered.  And He still delivers today.

Do you believe?

I don't know much, but I know that God is good.  I know that everything He does is good.  I know that He loves you and He loves me.  Believing is a verb.  It’s active.  And, though I use to be a doubting Thomas, I'm not anymore.  God loved me enough to not let me stay in that place.

I believe.

I believe everything God says in His Word is true.  You can take it to the bank.  He's proven His Word is true—time after time after time after time.  And time again.

"Just believe it—that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or else believe it because of the mighty miracles you have seen me do."  John 14:11

Goodnight, Runners.
