Captain Courageous in a Cowardly World
"Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
I'm grateful for the courageous in our world today. They seem few and far-between, but look around. They. Are. Here.
God has called each and every one of us to be courageous, too.
We need to be courageous about things like gender. Genesis 1:27 tells us, "So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Male and female are absolute truths in God's Kingdom. The fact that an evil cancel culture would dissuade us from stating such things is both a violation of our American free speech and the ultimate grand order of God's creation. Yet, this hate-filled and unforgiving agenda of evil seeks to quiet any such absolute truth.
We must protect the family of God's design by being courageous about the definition of marriage. It is an absolute truth. We cannot change its definition simply because a minority wishes to do so in an attempt to justify a sinful lifestyle. Genesis 2:24 says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Malachi 2:15 says, "Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth."
We must be courageous in protecting the sanctity of life—that of the pre-born, the elderly, and everyone in between. Psalm 66:9 tells us, "Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." And, Exodus 20:13 commands, "You must not murder."
These are but a few of God's loving absolute truths which must be upheld courageously in this—the world He created.
In fact, the Holy Bible admonishes us with some pretty serious and strong words regarding courage and cowardice in Revelation 21:8 when it says, "But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
It is not for fame or recognition that we practice this courage. It is a holy command from a Holy God.
Romans 6:22 tells us, "But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life."
I am praying for God to encourage and uphold you in all truth, in all courage. Won't you do the same for me?
Goodnight, Runners.
