Sic ‘em, Bears
"He went up from there to Bethel, and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, 'Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!' And he turned around, and when he saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. And two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys." 2 Kings 2:23-24
You have to love Elisha in this passage of Scripture.
John 15:7 tells us, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
You have to love Elisha in this passage of Scripture.
How many times have you or I been ridiculed or mocked to the point we prayed the Good Lord would give the scoundrels what's coming to 'em?
Now I have to tell ya, I've never had two she-bears come out of the woods and tear the villains limb from limb like Elisha did, but I have seen the protective hand of a loving Heavenly Father come to my rescue more times than I can count in ways that are even more amazing.

Much more than Elisha, you have to love God in this passage of Scripture.
Proverbs 20:11 tells us, "Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright." I'm guessing the remaining children in our story never called anyone a baldhead again.
It is a demonstration of the love God has for all of us.
John 15:7 tells us, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
Who wouldn't want to abide completely in a Father like this and have His words, His truth demonstrated in our daily life as we take up residence in Him? He loves us enough to sic bears on our enemies.
That's enough for me.
Is it enough for you?
Goodnight, Runners.
