Commended By God

"It is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person whom the Lord commends." 2 Corinthians 10:18

Do you care about what other people think of you--people other than God?

As a culture, I think we have become far too concerned about the opinions other people have of us, and we have lost the concern for the one and only opinion that matters--God's.

It gets us into all kinds of trouble when we live our life based on the opinions of others.  We are not true to ourselves.  We become fakes and phonies.  We fail to even think for ourselves.  We lose our joy and zeal for life and all that we could, would, should see God doing in it.

It is a dishonest life.

Living true to God and what He desires of us takes courage because He often requires us to be the little boy or girl shouting in the crowd that "the emperor is wearing no clothes not new clothes."  Or, He may require us to step out in faith when no one else will.

But, it is the best life, this life commended by God.

I pray that you and I would live our life concerned about the one and only opinion in all the world that matters--God's.  And, when this life is said and done, I pray you are commended by Him.
