Happy Birthday
"And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.” Luke 1:14
Don’t you love a birthday party?
As we age, birthdays become all the more precious.
But, once upon a time, there was a birthday most precious.
It was the birthday of Jesus.
His was a spectacular party, complete with angels, amazing gifts, special party guests, and even a super bright star to tell everyone where the birthday party would take place.
People came from many miles for this birthday party.
And, the guest of honor . . . not just a king . . .
The King.
The King of all kings and Lord of all lords (I Timothy 6:15).
The angels—the armies of heaven—all praised God for His birth (Luke 2:13).
Just imagine it.
“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
As Simeon said in Luke 2:32, “He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!”
May the birthday candle of Jesus shine brightly in our lives today and every day. And may all His wishes come true for your life and for mine (John 17).
