Out of the Cocoon
"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19
Some of us have been behind closed doors for a long time. We haven't seen too many people--not even some family members--in quite a while.
But, what have we been doing back there, behind those closed doors?
Are we gaining weight or becoming more fit than ever? Most important of all, are we drawing closer to Jesus, or moving farther away?
While we're all cocooned away, will we emerge as a moth or a beautiful butterfly?
I believe God is doing a beautiful new thing in you and in me. In the midst of the darkness around us, I believe God's remnant is being restored and revived with boldness and courage, with repentance and humility.
The Holy Bible encourages us in so many ways. Acts 3:19-21 tells us, "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago."
May God help us to emerge from this pandemic cocoon beautiful, refreshed, and more like Him.
Goodnight, Runners.
