Joy in the Darkness
"Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day." Isaiah 58:10
The world around us is filled with so much darkness. If we were to dwell on all of the darkness, we might be tempted to give up or lose hope.
But I see something so wonderful, so beautiful and worth celebrating in the world around us. It is the light of God's love and it fills us with so much joy. It takes away the fear of anything this world could ever dish out.
Do you see it? Do you see His light, His joy?
I see it in the beautiful story of Maeve Wallace, 17, of Easton, Massachusetts who cooks meals and delivers them to people who are afraid to leave their homes during the current pandemic.
I see it in Todd Tilghman, a pastor and father of eight, winning The Voice and using his platform to share the love of Jesus with those who don't know Him.
I see it in Grace Anna, a girl with Conradi Hunermann syndrome and many other health issues, who lives life filled with joy and shares this joy in song on her own YouTube channel, website, and she writes books, too. She is such a treasure.
I could go on and on forever with joyful stories--stories that share His light and joy in the darkness.
The Holy Bible tells us in John 1:5, "His life is the light that shines through the darkness—and the darkness can never extinguish it."
That's cause for real joy.
Goodnight, Runners.
