God is Good All The Time
"For the Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind, and his faithfulness goes on and on to each succeeding generation." Psalm 100:5
Jerry Wiles, one of the founders of Living Water International, loves to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with strangers by asking them, "Has God been good to you today?" The response is an overwhelmingly favorable outpouring of gratitude from people in all walks of life and all manner of circumstance.
What I love about this question is simply the direction it takes the receiver. It shifts our focus and re-directs the attitude--regardless of where it is--to one of gratitude and counting blessings.
Even when life is hard, there is always something to be grateful for. My parents and maternal grandmother taught me at an early age how to make lemonade, literally and figuratively, out of life's lemons.
Sometimes our trees tend to grow a lot of lemons, don't they? But, that's just an opportunity to drink in more of God's goodness, isn't it?
It's all about your perspective.

Psalm 34:8 says, "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!"
And, Psalm 107:1 tells us, "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"
If you're having trouble with your lemonade recipe (finding things to be grateful for), just spend some time in God's Word. There's no better recipe for real joy in all the world.
Goodnight, Runners.
