Global Warming
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.” 2 Peter 3:10
Do you believe in global warming?
I do.
Perhaps I don't believe it quite the way you're thinking. Unlike many scientists today, I don't believe it's something we can stop. I believe it the way the Holy Bible explains it, like the flood happened in Noah's day.
There's a lot written about it.
In Luke 17:28-30, Jesus tells us, “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed."

2 Peter 3:6-8 says, "Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed. But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day."
And, Jude 1:7 says, "And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment."
Finally, Revelation 14:18 warns, "Then another angel, who had power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from the vines of the earth, for they are ripe for judgment.”
I don't know about you, but I find these to be sobering passages of Scripture. They ignite my purpose and passion to share Jesus with others, and to do it now, today--not tomorrow-- today!
One day, God's judgment on the earth will come, and the heat will be so intense the heavens and the earth will dissolve; they will melt away, taking all the evil with them. The only way we will escape it is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Will you be ready?
Goodnight, Runners.
