A Walk
I took a walk outside today
Not for any grand reason
But wanting just to clear my head
Enjoying, too, the season
It started like most other walks
The breeze was nice and cool
I heard some children laugh and scream
While playing in their pool
The blue jays danced on up ahead
While chasing squirrels nearby them
I wanted so to join in, too,
And, acted on my whim
I wasn’t very graceful—no
The squirrels and birds stared at me
But didn’t seem to mind so much
They let me join their party
I kept on walking after that
Not with a plan or purpose
But knowing that my Abba, He
Controls this world’s strange circus
And He will guide each step I take
I need not fear the wild
For there is no one He loves more
Than me, His precious child
Not for any grand reason
But wanting just to clear my head
Enjoying, too, the season
It started like most other walks
The breeze was nice and cool
I heard some children laugh and scream
While playing in their pool
The blue jays danced on up ahead
While chasing squirrels nearby them
I wanted so to join in, too,
And, acted on my whim
I wasn’t very graceful—no
The squirrels and birds stared at me
But didn’t seem to mind so much
They let me join their party
I kept on walking after that
Not with a plan or purpose
But knowing that my Abba, He
Controls this world’s strange circus
And He will guide each step I take
I need not fear the wild
For there is no one He loves more
Than me, His precious child
