Searching for Lost Sheep
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?" Luke 15:4
Our world is full of lost sheep.
Do you know any? Maybe you're a lost sheep, yourself. You may be hiding, but secretly begging to be found. I pray that you allow yourself to be found today, if you are lost.
Funny thing about lost sheep . . . they sometimes aren't aware of just how far they've wandered away from home.
And, where is home? With God (John 14:23).
That's a big part of our job as Christians, searching for lost sheep. We don't have to look very far, either. They're everywhere. So, what do we do when we find one? In Luke 15:5-6, the Holy Bible tells us that Jesus scooped them up and carried the lost sheep on His shoulders, rejoicing! Then, they had a big party with friends and neighbors! We should do that, too. Have you been on the lookout? Or, are you keeping your eyes closed?
Some lost sheep are hiding in our own homes.
Many are in our offices.
Others are in our churches--waiting to be found.
I'm guessing there are a few you could go sit with, show love, and listen to today. And, maybe, just maybe, they'll listen to your story about Jesus, too.
If you're that lost sheep, have you been hiding from that someone who's found you? Or, are you so stubborn you jump out of the arms of Jesus each and every time He scoops you up to carry you home?
Stop running away, stop running to other things, and run to Jesus. Today.
Goodnight, Runners.
