The Power of Prayer

"But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love."  Jude 20-21

Do you believe in the power of prayer?

I do.

May I tell you about a few personal miracles from Heaven that I believe have been the direct result of God answering prayer?

My husband and I prayed for a child.  Seven years later, God blessed us with a beautiful, talented daughter.  A year later, we were blessed with a handsome, talented son.

When diagnosed with a brain tumor and given two years to live, many people prayed for me.  As a result, I am here today--thankful for every moment.

As our family began to fall apart, many people prayed, and we continue to be a work-in-progress, humbled by God's love for us, and learning to love each other more fully every day.

There have been friends and family members healed of illness, doors opened where no one could open them but God, elections won and lost, people moved and removed from positions in jobs and churches.  I could go on and on with miracles, intervention, and stories I believe could only be the result of answered prayer.

Each and every day we have opportunities to come boldly before God's thrown and communicate directly with Him through prayer.  The only question is, will we do it?  Will we take advantage of this glorious gift and opportunity?

Ephesians 6:18 tells us, "Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere."

This Easter weekend, may we remember the Good News message of our Lord and Savior's death, burial and resurrection!  He lives!!  Hallelujah!

And, may we remember the power of our intimate daily connection with God through prayer.

Goodnight, Runners.
