Another Amazing Trip

“Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!”  Luke‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭

Another amazing trip.

This time it was to Vancouver, British Columbia, a beautiful city.  It is a city surrounded by mountains and bordered by the sea.  The Vancouver Harbor was busy with activity this beautiful Thursday, but I was struck by the distraction of all that man had created there.  All so temporary and cluttering up the magnificent beauty only God can make.

The people I met were even more beautiful than the city.  From the exuberant driver who immigrated from Fiji in the 1990’s during a military coup, to the broker who contemplated becoming a monk—their insight, generosity and love for God and others overwhelmed me and taught me.

God continues to teach me . . . and I am so grateful.

Walking to the office in Vancouver, I passed a skyscraper being built and another one being demolished.  We work so hard day after day to build things that seem so unnecessary and never even come close to the majesty God has created and freely given us.  Yet, somehow He always finds a way to use our mighty messes.

Psalm 127:2 says, “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Goodnight, Runners.
