Real Peace

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."  John 14:27

There are people that we meet each day who struggle to find peace.  Maybe you're one of them.  Some are seeking the world's kind of peace--the peace that means their circumstances are not chaotic.  Others are seeking a deeper peace, that peace of soul that can only come from a right relationship with Jesus Christ.

Are you seeking peace?

If you do know Jesus Christ and have a real, personal relationship with Him and still struggle to find peace, the Holy Bible tells us how we can find it.

First, the Holy Bible tells us that righteousness and peace go together.  Psalm 85:10 tells us, "Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed!"  And, Isaiah 32:17 says, "And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever."

Second, the Holy Bible tells us we are to pursue it, search for it!  2 Timothy 2:22 tells us, "Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts."  And, 1 Peter 3:11 says, "Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it."

Unconfessed sin in our lives blocks peace.  That is by God's design.  The Christian cannot have true peace until they are in a right relationship with God.  The non-Christian cannot have peace until they find Him.

Do you know Him?

If you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you can have that today.  You need only repent, turn from your sin and ask Him to come into your heart, giving you new life through His death and resurrection.  

He is the forgiver of sins, the source of real peace.

"This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all."  Acts 10:36
