Gathered Together

"And I tell you this—whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever you free on earth will be freed in heaven. I also tell you this—if two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I will be right there among them."  Matthew 18:18–20 

The power available to us as God’s children, united in His love, is miraculous and awesome, for His kingdom is all around us.

Often we fail to realize that He is living and working among us. We see Him as some distant deity in the highest heavens. But the Holy Bible tells us something different.

Psalm 46:7 declares, “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.”

He is here among us.

Do you see Him? Do you know that He is near?

Acts 17:27 tells us, “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us."

As we gather together in the name of Jesus Christ, at every opportunity may we focus on knowing Him and doing His will. May we pray that we are one, united in our love for Him and for each other.  May we recognize that He is not far from any one of us.

And, may we fully realize and be good stewards of the power He avails us in knowing Him and being His, with hearts full of thanksgiving for all that He has proven to be.
