A Little Dab Won't Do Ya
"May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God." Philippians 1:11
Many people today want a dab of this religion and a dab of that one—never really committing to anything, so as not to impose upon their own selfish desires. But you can’t have just a dab of Jesus. He is an all-or-nothing God. And it is for our benefit that He is this way.
Exodus 34:14 tells us, “You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you."
Jesus wants all of us, and He longs to give us all of Him, by way of the Holy Spirit. Without receiving all of Jesus, we cannot receive all that He has to offer. Without giving Him all of ourselves, we miss out on the full measure of blessing that He longs to give us.
Ephesians 1:3 tells us, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
We must have the courage to speak this truth to those around us who believe they can serve many gods, as there is only one true and living God.
Jeremiah 10:10 says, “But the Lord is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at his anger. The nations cannot stand up to his wrath.”
May we give Him all that we are, so that we may be all He desires us to be.
Goodnight, Runners.
