Secret Admirers
But Jesus told him, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62
Are you a true follower of Christ or simply a secret admirer?
Secret admirers are those people who admire everything about Christ and the things He has done but who are not willing to take that next step of committing to follow Him. In certain circumstances, these people do not even want others to know that they admire Him. Hence, they are secret admirers.
Satan would be in the category of secret admirer, too.
The Holy Bible tells us that much is required of us in order to be followers of Christ, and that we are to count the cost, giving great consideration to the decision.
In Luke 14:28–29, Jesus tells us, “But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you."
He also tells us that the reward far outweighs the cost.
1 Peter 3:14 tells us, “But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats."
May we refuse to be secret admirers, and may we proclaim the salvation of our faithful Savior now and forevermore.
Goodnight, Runners.
