Joy in Listening to God
"And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful." Proverbs 8:32
There was a wonderful woman I had the privilege of knowing for many years, who had a very close personal relationship with Christ. This woman exuded joy in every area of her life. She had the effervescent curiosity, exhilarating excitement, whimsy and love of all things good that only a child knows, yet she was in her nineties.
This woman was my Grandma Tis, my mother's mother. Grandma Tis taught me that there is true and complete joy in knowing, listening to, and obeying God's voice. She lived it before my eyes, and I saw that it was very real.
Do you know that listening to God can provide very real joy in every area of your life? It can and it does! That doesn't mean that our circumstances will be perfect. It just means that we know who holds our circumstances—perfectly.
May you know the joy of listening to God and following His ways today and every day.
And, may you do more than that.
May you be the light in this dark world for someone else to see.
