A Prayer for Restoration
When our lives have been damaged and torn apart by conflict, we long to be whole again. We long to have that missing element restored to us. Sometimes restoration is physical or financial. You may be looking for the restoration of a job, due to a wrongful termination. Or, the restoration you seek may be in the form of a relationship. Regardless the type of restoration you are seeking in your life, communication with God through prayer can and will help.
When we believe we have been unjustly wronged and are innocent of the consequences we are facing, our desire for restoration is greatest. The stories of restoration in the Bible are many. God restored the cup-bearer to his position with the king after many days in prison with Joseph, in Genesis 40. There are also great stories of the restoration of Job, David, Isaiah, Hezekiah, Israel, Nehemiah, Ruth, Nebuchadnezzar and many more.
Truly the most spectacular story of restoration as a result of conflict is that of Jesus Christ. No one in the entire world experienced more conflict during His lifetime, and no one in all the world has been restored to greater position than Jesus Christ through his death, burial and resurrection. And, through Jesus Christ we, too, can experience His restoring power in every area of our lives.
I love what the Bible says about restoration in 1 Peter 5:10, “In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
There is no greater restoration than that of a firm foundation in Jesus Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Restore us unto You. Forgive us for our many sins, Father. We long to live a life that is pleasing to You.
Lord, we ask that You would restore _______________________. We feel wronged and betrayed. We have so many emotions that well up inside. We need You to help us. Heal the hurt, Father.
Grant us patience in awaiting Your perfect plan of restoration in our lives. Give us peace in accepting Your perfect plan of restoration. Show us Your will and Your way.
Father, we pray that You would help us to be forgiving of others who have wronged us in this situation as You freely forgive us.
We thank You for the many examples of Your kind and loving restoration in the Bible. We claim Your promise in Isaiah 54:7-8, “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will take you back. In a burst of anger I turned my face away for a little while. But with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer.

center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I've had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my
ideas out there. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
suggestions or hints? Appreciate it!
