The Only Love That Matters
"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." Matthew 6:33
Does it matter to you what others think of you?
Do you crave love, affection, admiration from others?
I have some radical news for you: You shouldn't.
Until we get to the place in our lives where the only person we aim to please is God, and the only love we need is from God, then you and I will never experience real joy--the kind that only God can give.
I'm not saying that we won't or shouldn't experience human love, but what I am saying, and the Holy Bible teaches us repeatedly, is that God's love and His opinion of us are what should always be at the top of our list. His opinion is the only one that matters.
When we give Him the proper place in our lives, then we will also learn to discern His voice. We will stop immediately when His God nudges tell us to stop--without hesitation, questioning or wondering why. And, we will move forward when He nudges us, too--without questioning or having to see the final result.
God longs to "guide our common sense," as Oswald Chambers puts it. Heeding His voice rescues us from heartache. It allows us to scale the highest mountains and be sustained in the lowest valleys. Nothing is impossible with God as our guide.
His is the only love that really matters.
Goodnight, Runners.
