Day 2
"You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the Lord. Anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death." Exodus 31:15
Those are pretty serious words . . . I'm thankful that God knows each person's heart.
With this verse in mind, I decided not to run today, but instead to do a cleansing fast. The cardiologist says that doing this weekly is good for my heart, too. It was a little tricky because we had a wonderful friend gathering in Magnolia, Texas this afternoon with beautiful food--but, God made a way of escape for me, and I did not bulldoze through the roadblocks He lovingly established for me. Just had juice and water.
As an extra special treat, I got to see Miss Meredith today, and she looked beautiful inside and out. We had sweet Mom and daughter time.
Scripture somehow seems more real, more a part of me today with the fast. I think I'll do it again next Sunday.
Planning to run around the block a couple of times tomorrow after work when I'm back in the saddle, and do the usual leg lifts and crunches. I'll let ya know how it goes.
May you have the best Sunday evening you've ever had in your life.
