Happy Anniversary
To My Husband On Our 26th Wedding Anniversary:
Ours is not a marriage I would hold up as an example for anyone to follow. There have been many deep wounds with gaping scars. There has been anger and bitterness, ugly selfishness, and attempts to cover up and hide the sins blatantly obvious to anyone with eyes to see them.
Yet, in all of this, and in the ashes of our battered marriage, I see the beauty that only God can create. I see the two most beautiful people in all the world to me, Meredith and Dylan. I see how God has taught me to forgive in ways I never could before. I see how He has taught me to seek Him above all else. I see that it is the storm that proves the seaworthiness of the ship. And, I see that He’s teaching me how to love—yes, to really love—the way that only He loves.
I’m not there yet, but I dream of the day we are both there. And, I do dream of you, my dear husband, Daniel Scott.

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.” Isaiah 61:3
