Childlike Faith Perfected
O my people, trust him all the time. Pour out your longings before him, for he can help! —Psalm 62:8
Can you recall a time in your life when someone reached out and caught you?
I recall being a little girl and eagerly running across the street, chasing after my older brother and sister. I didn’t bother to look both ways before crossing, as I was focused on catching my big brother and sister. By the time I saw the car coming toward me, it was too late. Just as my short life flashed before my eyes, two strong arms grabbed me, pulling me to safety. They were the loving arms of my father, who had been watching the whole incident unfold.
Our Heavenly Father is like that.
Isaiah 59:1 tells us, “Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.”
Psalm 55:22 comforts us with these words: “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”
Perhaps you feel as though your earthly father has failed you in some way. Don’t attribute those same flaws to your Heavenly Father. Trust in Him at all times, and follow Him with the same faith and focus as I had in chasing my big brother and sister. He will catch you.
He never disappoints His children.
Goodnight, Runners.
