Right Where I'm Supposed To Be
"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2
I sometimes wonder if I'm where I'm supposed to be in life.
Do you ever do that?
If I'm honest, I've wondered that a lot. Often I will talk to God while I'm sitting at my desk at work, asking Him if this is His will for my life, if I'm doing what He wants me to do. It is at those times that He answers me. He doesn't answer me in the way that you might think. Sometimes it is a conversation with someone . . . a spontaneous conversation about God. Or, it might be a look of desperation on someone's face, and I know that all they need from me is to see the warmth of God's love in a smile--so easy to give.
I can be a slow learner when it comes to the things of God, but what I've finally learned is that God's will for my life isn't necessarily a physical place or a job, though I believe He picks those things for us, too.
God's good and pleasing and perfect will for your life and for mine is that we change the way we think. God wants us to think like Him, not like the world. That's what Romans 12:2 is telling us. God wants to know that He can use us wherever we are in life--whether a CEO or a stay-at-home mom--and everywhere in between. He wants us to bloom where we're planted, as my mother often told me.
When I'm being all that God wants me to be, doing all that He wants me to do, then I'm right where I'm supposed to be.
And, so are you.
