Your New Name
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it." Revelation 2:17
Do you like your name?
I've always liked the name given to me by my parents. My father chose the first name, Priscilla, after the biblical namesake. My mother gave me the middle name, Joy, after her sister whom she adored, my aunt, Caroline Joy. I have always liked the combination.
The Scripture above in Revelation tells us that God will give each of the victorious some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven, and a white stone with a new name engraved on it! And, no one will understand it but us! That's pretty awesome, don't you think?
I don't know about you, but in light of how much I like the name I have now, I can only imagine how much I'm going to love my new name . . picked out especially for me . . . by God.
Wow.
May we listen and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches today.
