Living a Best Seller

"In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." Matthew 5:16

The Book of Ecclesiastes tells us that "writing books is endless, and much study wears you out."  I know this to be true.  After a full day of work outside the home, finishing chores and work inside the home, and getting children off to bed, I finally settle in to write.  It is my passion, though sometimes passions do not provide the kind of living we might hope.  Still, I must do it because the page calls to me, and my Heavenly Father bids me come to the page, as well, and there we dine.  I am filled with joy as each word is penned, and I hope these words bring some joy to you, as well.

But, what of all these words?  Why do I feel so compelled to pen them?  Is there any difference, any change effected because of them?

Matthew 3:8 calls out for you and for me to, "Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God."

So, are you doing that?  Am I doing it?  Do the people around you see a difference in your life?  Or, are you just like everybody else?

I can write books all day, every day, but if my life demonstrates no difference, no change, no Jesus, then all those books I write are meaningless.  Even if I were to write a best seller, it would mean nothing if I am not living a best seller--picking up my cross daily to follow Him.
