Evergreen
“They are like trees planted
along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are
not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves
stay green, and they never stop
producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8
What kind of tree are you?
Does the tree of your life produce fruit in season and out? Do your roots reach deep into the water, keeping you productive in times of heat or long months of drought?
What about your leaves? Are they evergreen?
Psalm 1:3 tells us about those who delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. It says, “They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
In order for our lives, our trees, to stand the test of time and endure ‘til the end, we must be rooted and grounded in God’s love, in God’s Word, with an unshakable faith in the person of Jesus Christ.
Do you have that?
If not, you can start today. It’s not too late.
1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
May your tree be evergreen, ever-bearing, and pruned for everlasting life.
