The Masterpiece
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:8-10
The Master Artist, Jesus Christ, is at work in your life painting a glorious masterpiece on the canvas of your heart. The day you accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior, He began a new work on the canvas of your heart, mixing just the right shades of color and putting them together in a manner more beautiful than you or I could ever imagine. This work is unique to you, one of a kind, and there will be nothing like it when the Artist is done.
Though the canvas may fall off of the easel or become damaged by the elements, the Master Artist picks up the fallen canvas, carefully cleaning it off, and lovingly sets it back upon the easel to begin again.
He never makes a mistake as He chooses each hue with absolute care, and seamlessly glides each stroke across the canvas with impeccable finesse, knowing all the while its remarkable purpose.
The canvas can take no credit for the beauty that may be found there, created there—it is all the Artist’s doing.
May you have the faith to believe, the will to depend, and the spiritual eyes to see the masterpiece God is creating upon the canvas of your heart today.
