Making the Grade
“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:29-30
Do you ever feel pressured to make better grades? Or, maybe you feel pressured to perform better in some other area of life.
God always wants us to give Him our best (Proverbs 3:9). If we are not doing that, then some adjustments need to be made, and we need to refocus our priorities. But, once we have done this, then we need to remember to leave the results up to God.
This passage of Scripture reminds us that God also wants to be our teacher. And, He’s the best teacher you’ll ever have. He is never too strict or harsh, nor is He too lenient. His tests? Many are open book—taken straight from the Bible. Best of all, He makes Himself available for tutoring twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. All we have to do is call upon His name.
Do you need to be reminded to let God have control today?
He wants us to lay all of our burdens—including the grades—at His feet, and He wants us to find rest. He never gives us too much homework. The burden He gives us is never too much to bear. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
Give God everything that you have and are, and allow Him to make the grade.
He never fails.
