Joy in the Every Day
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Galatians 6:9
There is no shortcut to faithful obedience to Christ. Our obedience isn't always accompanied with fanfare and a ticker tape parade. No, the Christian life doesn't come wrapped in a pretty little package with a bow, but it is the stuff dreams--real, lasting, eternal dreams--are made of.
Obedience and faithfulness are not always exciting. They are acts that may seem mundane and monotonous to those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, to the Christian, the life of faithfulness and obedience to Christ epitomizes the pinnacle of joy and freedom. It is freedom from sin and eternal punishment. It is freedom to love others in a way only a follower of Christ can. And, at the root is a deep, abiding joy.
Psalm 16:11 tells us, "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
May you experience the joy of Christ at the center of your life each and every day.
