The Joy of Knowing the Shepherd's Voice
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27 NLT
Do you ever wonder if thoughts inside your head are God speaking to you, or simply your own crazy ideas?
Gideon struggled with that, too. He was met by the angel of the Lord who told him that his small tribe would defeat the Midianites, yet, he had to have a sign from God to prove that he wasn't imagining things. Read Judges 6. You can probably relate to Gideon's way of thinking and feeling.
So, how do we know when God is speaking to us? How can we be certain we are hearing God's voice and not our own, or worse, the voice of evil?
The Bible tells us very plainly in John 10:27. We must have a personal relationship with Christ in order to know Him and distinguish His voice from all the others. Read John 10. It is a beautiful picture of the loving relationship we have with Christ as our shepherd if we will only receive it.
May you know the fullness of the shepherd's voice. And, may you have the best week you've ever had in your life.
