Joyful Living
"Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts."
Those are the words found in Psalm 119:1-2. Psalm 119 is one of my favorite passages in the Bible, with 176 verses and 22 stanzas. It is written in an acrostic, with each of the twenty-two stanzas beginning with the next successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and each verse beginning with the stanza's beginning Hebrew letter of the alphabet.
If you've read it a thousand times before, stop and read Psalm 119 again. Pay close attention to King David's heart, spilled out in words across the page.
Do you have the same longing, joy, gratitude, and hunger for God? It is easy to see why God called David, "a man after my own heart" (Acts 13:22).
My prayer for you this week is that God will purify your heart and fill it with an intense longing for Him. May you have the best week you've ever had in your life.
