Continual Joy
This world can be a rough-and-tumble kind of place. If you're anything like me, you've experienced some difficulties in life--times when you felt the very earth may crumble beneath your feet. Yet, in all of those times, I am thankful to know that I am held securely in the tender hand of God--no matter what goes on around me. The Bible says, "I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely." Psalm 63:8
Knowing that God holds me securely, how can I not have joy? There is a song I learned as a preschooler and often sing to my children, called "Happy All the Time." It goes something like this:
I'm inright, outright, upright, downright happy all the time. I'm inright, outright, upright, downright happy all the time. Since Jesus Christ came in, and cleansed my heart from sin, I'm inright, outright, upright, downright happy all the time.
I love that song. If we can but slightly get our minds around all that Christ has done for us, we can live in joy continually.
2 Corinthians 6:10 says, "Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything." NLT
May your heart be filled to overflowing with the real joy of Christ this Christmas, and may today be the best day you've ever had in your life. "Always be joyful." I Thessalonians 5:16 NLT
